Motorola Triumph |
Motorola Triumph has an attractive 4.1-inch WVGA screen, decent multimedia features like a 5 megapixel camera that can record HD video, a VGA front camera, HDMI output, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. Performance is catchy.
Virgin Mobile has really accelerated in the department prepaid smartphones in recent years, the release of Android phones, like Samsung and LG Optimus V. Intercept Although we liked both of these devices, which were decidedly entry-level, with slower processors and not as many features as high-end phones. Those who want a smart phone prepaid with more features and power was out of luck.
Enter the Triumph of Motorola, which promises to be the new flagship prepaid phone operator. Triumph is by far the most advanced phone, the Virgin setup with 4-inch WVGA, Android 2.2.2, 1GHz Snapdragon, a 5 megapixel camera that can record HD video, forward-facing camera, HDMI output, and other notable features of note. Not only is the first Virgin Mobile handset Motorola Triomphe, is also the first social network carrier Virgin Mobile Live pre-installed, the application of Music.
DesignOne of the first descriptions of the Motorola Triumph heard our colleagues is a droid that looks a lot like a miniature X In fact, the Triumph is similar to a rectangular design with sharp square corners wrapped soft shell. 4.8 cm long, 2.6 cm wide and 0.39 inches deep, the Triumph is not quite the same length as X, Droid, Droid, and is missing collision brand X is back. It 'still a slab stable enough to carry around, since it weighs about 5.04 ounces.
Another design element reminiscent of the X-Droid is the triumph of the large 4.1-inch WVGA. We are quite satisfied with vivid graphics and crisp 584x480-pixel resolution and screen size is an absolute pleasure when surfing the Internet and watch videos. It may not be as sharp as QHD or Super AMOLED display, but we found very useful. The touch screen is smooth and responsive, and applications ran to life as soon as the display was used. You can also pinch-to-zoom support and a proximity sensor and an accelerometer.
Under the screen are the four usual Android Touch sensor key corresponding to the menu, at home, back and search functions. The volume rocker is on the right side, while the key to lock the screen on the left. We found these side keys are a bit too thin and weak on the surface for comfort. They felt sticky when pressed as well.
The 3.5mm headphone jack is at the top, while the Micro-USB and Micro-HDMI ports are on the bottom. The Triumph has two cameras - one facing the front is above the screen, while a camera is on the back above the battery cover next to a LED flash.
Motorola Triumph included AC adapter, USB cable, preloaded 2 GB microSD card, and the source material.

Software and User InterfaceThose of you who fear skin maker can rejoice: Triumph ships with Motorola Android 2.2 and has no interface Motoblur. It has an interface of any vanilla Android that we believe will result in screen transitions smoothly and faster navigation. We hope that this means that the victory will be easy to switch to Android 2.3 and Gingerbread. You get up to five screens adapted house and every home screen has shortcuts to the phone dialer, main menu and the browser. Hold the home button to bring up the recently launched applications.
Motorola and Virgin Mobile does not add a touch of the phone change. For example, the default keyboard Android, Motorola, sneaking in the other two input devices: keyboard and keyboard Talkback TouchPal. TouchPal is a bit 'sophisticated keyboard with larger keys and a better predictive ability. It looks even better in a horizontal direction. Talkback, however, speaks on-screen keyboard designed to read the text back to you. You need to enable accessibility for use.
As with all Android phones, you can enjoy access to mobile services like Google Gmail, Google Maps with navigation, voice search, Latitude, Places, YouTube, and other features of Android 2.2 Froyo. Virgin Mobile and Motorola adds a bit of their applications in packaging, including AirG Chat, Facebook, My Account, Poynt, SCVNGR, another mobile, Virgin Mobile Live and where. The latter is a social networking application that allows the music to listen to live streams of music artists and find Madonna videos, blogs and concerts. Of course, you can always get more applications through the Android Market.

By default, the Android phone has an integrated music player, and supports a variety of formats, including AAC, AAC +, WMA and MP3. Given the big screen, we are pleased that Triumph supports HD video playback at 720p and the unit has an HDMI-out port so you can watch your videos on a widescreen TV, if you want. The phone has the standard music player integrated Android and supports a variety of formats, including AAC, AAC +, WMA and MP3. Motorola Triumph has good pictures.
Photo quality was quite good. Images were sharp and colors were decent, if somewhat boring. The camera was a little slow to focus and low-light shooting was a little softer than we want. Photos taken with the flash looked a little better, but tend to be somewhat discolored. The video quality is quite good, but the sound was of poor quality and had a metal.
PerformanceWe tested the success of Motorola in San Francisco with Virgin Mobile. Call quality was decent, but not without flaws. For example, we had to increase the volume to hear what our partners, he said. Once we did we hear them clearly enough, but with a slightly hazy voice quality.
On their end, callers said it sounded good, but announced the same problem fuzzy sound quality. Still, we managed to continue the discussion without difficulty, and there was very little static or white noise. Hands-free calls were good, not much of an echo effect.
Since Virgin Mobile uses the Sprint network for its EV-DO Rev A connectivity, we have had decent speed in the city. We loaded the side CNET laptop in about 35 seconds while the full CNET instead placed in 1 minute and 16 seconds. We had a few seconds of buffering when streaming high quality video on YouTube, but when they are posted, the videos played without hiccups.
Triumph is a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, with a simple interface to navigate Android led to very optimistic. Applications load quickly, and felt snappy multitasking. Maps App is started immediately, as well as a camera and a browser. Triumph is just as fast as a dual-core, most of the phones we tested.
Motorola's triumph has a grade range of 8.3 hours of talk time and 12.5 days standby. According to radiation tests of the FCC, the success of Motorola has a digital SAR of 1.09 watts per kilogram.
ConclusionsTriumph While Motorola may not be the best phone on the Android market, it is certainly the best prepaid Android handsets we've ever seen. With its stunning 4.1 inch screen, clean interface, great multimedia features and high performance, Triumph is definitely in the high-end smartphone now Virgin Mobile. Yes, the Triumph is expensive at $ 299.99, but it offers no contract with Virgin Mobile plans that start as low as $ 25 per month for unlimited text and data, and 300 minutes of conversation. The low monthly plans do Triumph's worth, especially if you are wanting to have a prepaid phone.
